Indiana lawyer Kelly Scanlan

It is with mixed feelings that I say goodbye to Rex Baker, Caroline Gilchrist, and the legal staff and nurse consultants at Baker & Gilchrist. I have been fortunate beyond measure to work with the Baker & Gilchrist team since joining them in August of 2014.

They welcomed me immediately and wholeheartedly, for which I am grateful. I benefitted immensely from collaborating with Rex Baker and Caroline Gilchrist, who have a strong partnership and work closely with one another for the benefit of their clients. I am leaving because I have accepted a position as a Commission in the Marion County Circuit Court, Paternity Division.

The opportunity will allow me to continue fulfilling my goal of being of service to others, and will enable me to do so in Marion County, where I was born and have lived my entire life. I am excited to begin a new chapter in my career, and the only downside is leaving the family of Baker & Gilchrist. I wish everyone at Baker & Gilchrist continued success and I thank them for their support of me.

While Rex and I will miss Kelly at Baker and Gilchrist, we feel sure that the residents of Marion County will truly benefit from her compassion, knowledge and innate sense of justice.  Since she took the “of counsel” position with Baker & Gilchrist, Kelly contributed in many positive ways to our practice.

She seamlessly blended into the family atmosphere in our office; she helped us to become more up to date with technology (we now both use 2 computer screens); she shared her nursing experience and knowledge with us; and she provided help and assistance whenever we needed it with our cases.

We will especially miss her good sense of humor and ready smile.

We wish Kelly every success in her new endeavor.
